A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to inactive email addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss emails because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a typographical error. The downside of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of unsolicited bulk emails, but this issue can be rectified using anti-spam protection software. It is also crucial to keep in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming messages to a 3rd-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting
Setting up a catch-all e-mailbox will be really easy if you have a web hosting with our company. You can activate this option through our powerful, albeit easy-to-work-with Email Manager tool, which is built into the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will administer the shared hosting account itself. You’ll find all the email addresses that you have set up shown alphabetically and next to each one of them there will be a tiny "Catch-all" icon, which will instantly inform you if a certain mailbox receives all the email messages for a given domain or not. With a single mouse click on the icon you can activate or deactivate the feature at any moment. In case there’s active email forwarding or in case some other mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a particular domain name, you’ll get a warning message from our system. The latter will not replace/disable anything automatically and without your approval.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
You will be able to create a catch-all email address with no more than a click if you have a semi-dedicated server with us and your email messages are handled by our cloud platform. All the mailboxes that you create with any domain hosted in the account will be enumerated in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Each of them will have a mini "Catch-all" icon on its right-hand side, so all it will take to enable this feature will be to click that icon. In the very same fashion you’ll be able to remove the feature, in case you do not need it any longer. Our system will warn you if you’re attempting to enable a 2nd catch-all email address for a certain domain or in case there’s enabled email forwarding, but it will never disable or change anything automatically and without your consent.
